A Stylish Country Wedding At Babington House In Somerset

‘We wanted the wedding to be a small and intimate day with those special people we share our lives with and to have a fun feel about it,’ explains bride Storm about the style of her wedding.. She and Ian first met one another at a mutual friends’s 30th birthday and dated for five and half years before getting engaged. According to Storm, Ian planned his proposal a year before actually asking her to marry him. Ian found the diamond for Storm’s ring through a diamond dealer in Holland, he then got someone to design the ring and then had the diamond cut and ring hand made to his exact specifications. He proposed to Storm the very day he collected the ring. ‘Whilst I was busy getting the children ready for bed, Ian decorated the whole garden with fairy lights and candles,’ says Storm. ‘When he asked me to join him outside, I thought he was asking me to put the rubbish out! Thankfully it wasn’t for this reason. Neither of us can remember exactly what he said. It just seemed to be one magical blur of happiness and excitement.’

Storm and Ian hired the services of wedding planner Hannah Sage from Sage and Flo. ‘She was wonderful and we would have been lost without her guidance and help,’ says Storm. The couple got married at the beautiful Babington House in Somerset on 18th September 2014 and their stylish country wedding was photographed by the amazing Brett Harkness.

Storm and Ian’s stylish country wedding

How gorgeous is this photograph of Storm and Ian? Storm’s wedding dress was from Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2014 bridal collection. Her headpiece is ‘Eris’ by Jennifer Behr. Her diamond earring studs were a mother’s day gift from Ian the year before. Storm’s bouquet was by Passion Flowers and was a loose hand tied posy of pink roses, hydrangeas, berries cream stocks and green foliage.

The napkins at Storm and Ian’s wedding reception were tied with a pink ribbon. Slotted inside was a sparkler for all their guests.

The tables in the wedding breakfast room were decorated with different height candelabras, glass bowls with textured dome arrangements and single stem vases with flowers. There were also candlesticks in different sizes and tea lights. The three chandeliers in the orangery were covered in flowers and soft foliage.
