Cindy and Thomas’ beautiful copper themed wedding took place at the stunning Coworth Park in Ascot. I’m sure many brides-to-be dream of a wedding venue with beautiful gardens, and Cindy and Thomas made the most of the fabulous grounds with an intimate outdoor ceremony.
As you’ll know, copper is a big wedding trend. The copper styling Cindy and Thomas created works so well with the backdrop of the venue.
They used cute copper wire letters of their initials and copper painted picture frames to style their guest book table. Their wedding cake included a copper tier, they placed a copper favour box on every other ceremony chair, and their place names were a gorgeous copper bar tied delicately to the menu card. Everything was copper… who knew you can get photo booth props in copper too? Even the inside of Cindy’s gorgeous Ted Baker wedding shoes were copper – I have serious shoe envy!
Cindy and Thomas really thought about their styling details and made sure that every little detail was just so. I hope you enjoy this magnificent wedding, captured by Masha Unwerth, and get loads of inspiration for styling your own copper themed wedding.
“Thomas and I met 10 years ago when we were both working in the same hotel. I had just started and he was very persistent in getting me to go out for a date with him… I finally agreed and we have been together ever since!
“Thomas is French so we ended up having two weddings, not even a week apart. Our immediate French family travelled to the UK on the Monday for our wedding at Coworth, and then we travelled to France with my family to do it all over again on the Saturday with the rest of our French family and friends.”
“I only had one day to find my wedding dress as my mother made a five-hour trip to visit us up north so we could go together. After trying on over what felt like 20 dresses and almost walking out the shop twice I eventually found my perfect dress. The lady who was looking after me on the day ran up to us when we were nearly out the door with ‘my dress’ in hand, begging me to try it on just in case we’d overlooked it before. I felt like a princess in it, and even got to wear it twice!”
“Coworth Park has copper styling throughout, so we chose a copper themed wedding with ivory details to work with this. We made all the boxes and name tags for our favours, which were delicious meringues from our favourite French pub. I also made all the orders of service, menus, place cards and photos on our gift table.
“Our flowers were soft, romantic designs of ivory and copper roses and ivory hydrangeas. The arrangements were loose and informal – naturally beautiful.
“A friend we used to work with made our three tier wedding cake, which gave it extra sentimental value. The top and bottom tiers were ivory and the middle copper to match our theme.”
“Our pianist Richard Sully played for us during our ceremony and reception. He holds a special place in our hearts as he played in the hotel where we first met, and we always said we wanted him playing at our wedding.
“Our photographer Masha and I used to work together at Coworth Park. I followed her career and loved her work, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing our day. My favourite picture his of Thomas and our son before our ceremony started; they both looked so cool!
“Our wedding day was a whirlwind but was such a privilege to have all the people we loved in one place at the same time. The love and appreciation you feel on the day is overwhelming. We are so thankful for all our loved ones and what they did to help us to make it a dream come true.”

On the 13th and 14th October 2018, PapaKåta will again showcase their beautiful tipis and Sperry Tents in the idyllic surroundings of Escrick Park for the PapaKåta Autumn Open Weekend.
With contemporary tablescapes and awe-inspiring florals, the styling will take this year’s events, current trends and next year’s predictions into consideration. Lucy Wright gave us a sneak peek of what to expect…
“A visit to Italy inspired me to create this ‘Touch of Tuscany’ look for the 2018 PapaKåta Autumn Open Weekend. I’ve added teal, a colour used in many ways, to give the look depth and decadence. I planned a stunning wedding this year in a PapaKåta Sperry Tent, working with the couple to create an elegant yet bold theme. We used teal in the stationery, copper in the tableware and paired it with tonal greys in the candles. The overall look was fresh and modern yet warm and inviting.
“Mat from Red Floral Architecture and I intend to go wild with the Tuscan theme, inspiring visitors with the use of dramatic, bright and bold florals. Clean, contemporary stationery, classic tableware and luxurious linen in jewel like teal will give a timeless elegance to the tipis and Sperry Tents.”
Lots of wonderful wedding suppliers will be on hand to help you with every stage of your planning. Ellie Sax, Switch Entertainment and Booth Revolution will fulfil your entertainment needs. Sample tasty treats from Where the Ribbon Ends, whilst Wonderland Invites and Lucas and Co event Stationery will help with the finer details for your wedding.
Baba Ganoush is bringing back Summer with food and drink inspiration and a ‘Taste of Tuscany’. Plus, the Yorkshire Bartender will be creating the ultimate party atmosphere with limited edition refreshments, bespoke to the Open Weekend. Documented by Natasha Cadman, check out the PapaBlog after the event for all the images.
Of course, the PapaKåta team will also be on hand to answer your questions and discuss your wedding or event. It’s the perfect chance to walk through the tipis and Sperry Tents and to meet PapaKåta’s experienced event planners face to face.

Natural elegance, creative florals and a timeless London backdrop inspired today’s magnificent styled shoot. Beautiful flowers, a soft colour palette and a chic rustic vibe – all of my favourite things rolled into one. Add fabulous creative design and an 18th century mansion venue and I’m sold!
To create this serene wedding inspiration, Fleur and Fig added such alluring elements and attention to detail. The table design is simply splendid. Laid upon the fabulous wooden table, each place setting is simple yet elegant with white china, rustic yet modern menu cards, a soft grey napkin and rustic wooden handled cutlery. An abundance of taper candles in a mix of pink, purple and white help to create a romantic look.
I am a huge flower lover, and when I saw the amazing florals created for this shoot I did swoon rather a lot, and you’ll see why!
Everything about this shoot is charmingly beautiful, including the simple yet elegant white, two tier wedding cake with pretty lace detail. Oh and wait until you see the sweet treats… they are some of the cutest delights I have seen!
I am in awe of the bridal styling too. The bride’s wedding dress, ‘Charlotte’ by Vicky Rowe, is one of my favourite dresses of the season. The high neck, teardrop open back and full skirt with lace like beading detail and smoky Swarovski crystals create such a head-turning wedding dress. It complements a city wedding perfectly, yet stays in keeping with the magnificent backdrop of Clissold House.
This styled wedding shoot is romance personified – I could go on all day about the details! So, without further ado, enjoy these incredible pictures, captured by Amanda Karen Photography…
“Clissold House in vibrant Hackney, London provided the elegant backdrop for this editorial shoot. The autumnal weather and wooden interiors inspired the transitional colour palette of forest green contrasted with soft blush and deep berry tones and delicate touches of gold. Fleur and Fig based their design around timeless elegance with a slight nod to rustic chic.
“Inside the main Dining Room, the large Georgian townhouse windows filled the room with an abundance of natural light. The tablescape reflected the elegant feel of Clissold House, with the bare wooden table draped in a soft Ivory table runner, with delicately folded grey and blush napkins at each place setting. Wood and gold cutlery accompanied natural white plates, along with mixed crystal and vintage pink glassware. A combination of gold and glass candlesticks with ivory, plum and heather coloured tapered candles sat amongst a large cascading floral centrepiece and two smaller arrangements, and gorgeous wood cross back chairs completed the table setup.
“The absolutely gorgeous invitation suite and menus tied in with our fine art, elegant theme. Delicate menus in gold frames added a sophisticated touch to our cocktail bar, and name cards tied with delicate silk ribbon were used as an interactive table plan come treat table.
“An Elegant and simple two tiered buttercream cake, decorated in exquisitely detailed and romantic sugar peonies with lace, was one of several delicious treats to grace this wedding. Dessert tables are an ever popular addition to luxurious London weddings, and this was no exception, with ours featuring cake pops, profiteroles, white chocolate chip cookies, gold leaf meringue kisses and individual mini cheesecakes.”
“Our lovely bride Joanne wore a stunning dress covered in beautiful beading with an on-trend high neck design. We choose a dress that had a city chic feel to suit our venue, but would also appeal to modern and fashion inspired brides. The gorgeous Jimmy Choo Lance design footwear featured is a favourite with brides at the moment.
“A light dewy complexion and a gorgeous dusty pink lip gave our bride a classic yet modern look. Her hair, swept into a tousled low bun, was effortlessly chic but still left the dress details on show.”
“The flowers for this shoot featured muted tones alongside deeper hues for depth and interest. A stunning statement spiral arrangement in the centre of the drinks reception entrance mirrored the floral adorned spiral staircase leading into the wedding. Wild, romantic florals were also present on the table décor, with a large central arrangement, high above the diners, on an intricate, almost invisible metal plinth.
“To reflect light and airy feel to the venue and aesthetic, it was important the photography and videography also held this style, and I worked with Nkima Photography (videography) to capture the romance of this shoot.”
