Well happy Halloween! Today I have something quite spooktacular (sorry), with this moody Gothic outdoor wedding styling, created and captured by Eleni P Photography.
With the backdrop of Bancroft Tower, this shoot has a fabulously eerie ambience, with rich deep red, black and gold colours giving an autumnal vibe.
The pièce de résistance of this shoot though is the fabulous tablescape. Set upon a white rustic door, beautiful styling details stand out amongst the white table runner, napkins and plates. Gold chargers, cutlery and candlestick holders, black candles, coloured ornate glassware, and beautiful vases of dark flowers and foliage bring the table to life. Then, to complete the styling, pheasant feathers and a sheep skull add yet another dimension.
The bridal styling is pretty cool too. To complement her dark and sultry make-up, the bride wears an unusual black two-piece, with a full silk skirt teamed with sexy lace cropped top. This Gothic-like bridal look, along with the shoot location, helped evolve this shoot from its original boho theme.
Haunting beautiful, I hope you enjoy pinning these ideas…
“It was important that this shoot was very creative, as opposed to a cookie cutter wedding shoot. I wanted to show brides that, with a little help from amazing vendors, they can get as funky and vintage as possible.
“To start with the focus of the styling was very boho, with the aim of using eclectic materials to achieve this. These included the wood cake block, the door as the table, the macramé arch I made, and the unique glassware. Yet, with the black dress, heavier make-up and castle location, it had more of a Gothic look, so we decided to go for it.
“I loved the texture of the castle rocks, and tried to mimic that with the cake and boho table setup. This also helped to soften the Gothic feel. The black dress is interesting too because it’s actually a skirt and a top, and bridal separates are becoming more popular with brides.”

Pure elegance is the only way to describe the Caroline Castigliano The Power of Love 2019 Collection. Known for her understated, effortlessly glamorous style, Caroline Castigliano’s dresses are classic and timeless with contemporary highlights and details that create a chic look.
The latest collection of exquisite wedding dresses stays true to the designer’s renowned style; understated effortless glamour and clean, classic lines with contemporary touches. Her unique stretch corsets continue in The Power of Love collection. Corsets with bra cup sculpture the figure to create a feminine and playfully sensual shape, with layered lace creating depth and texture.
Whether your dream wedding dress is a traditional ball gown or a fitted bodice with floaty tulle skirt, the Caroline Castigliano The Power of Love 2019 Collection will deliver.
Classic ball gowns with statement clean lines bring back the essence of 50’s glamour, but with a modern take. Sleek fishtails, sumptuous detachable trains, delicate lace, modern laces and subtle beading create an understated yet glamorous bridal look.
“My inspiration behind ‘The Power of Love’ Collection was relaxed, effortless style. I love creating glamorous pieces that fit perfectly and create a beautiful silhouette, but at the same time appear relaxed and chic – no effort. The collection has understated and quite simple gowns that exude a sensual feeling. For me it all comes down to the cut and the movement; the architecture of the gown.” – Caroline Castigliano
The Caroline Castigliano The Power of Love 2019 Collection epitomises luxury bridal wear. My favourite dresses from the collection are…
The magnificent lace detail of Madeira makes it a real showstopper. I adore the high neck front and feature lace back with button fastening.
This is a modern take on the traditional wedding dress silhouette; simplistic elegance that creates such luxury. Sometimes less is definitely more.
This wedding dress is the perfect choice for an autumn or winter wedding, where you may want a little extra coverage. The fitted silhouette with exquisite lace bodice and sleeves looks divine. Also, the detailed edging of the lace around the neckline is such a pretty feature.

I’m overjoyed to feature the Grace Loves Lace Icon 2018 Bridal Collection. Grace Loves Lace’s carefree, romantic designs form the kind of wedding dress you won’t want to take off!
Renowned for challenging the status quo and refuting against restrictive, uncomfortable dresses that don’t allow women to move freely, Founder and Creative Director Megan Ziems says the collection is an exciting interpretation of what women want in 2018. “We design for women with a strong sense of self”, she said. The range plays to the strengths of Grace Loves Lace – comfortable fits, effortless silhouettes and unexpected fabric combinations.
“The Grace Loves Lace Icon collection celebrates self-expression as a form of personal freedom. Our dresses are an extension of a woman’s substance – they make you feel something.”
Icon celebrates the woman, her body and her character. The nine wedding dresses in the collection are some of the most inspiring I have seen this season, featuring deceptively full skirts, exotic trims, layering, bold patterns and intricate detail. Each wedding dress is more than meets the eye. Look closer to reveal blink-and-you’ll-miss-it metallic beading, iridescent threading and playful details like star trims and secret garden embroidery.
Gosh I love these dresses, so it is really hard to choose favourites, but there are some standout dresses…
The Grace Loves Lace Icon collection includes one of my all-time favourite wedding dresses, Menha. This romantic dress in breathtaking iridescent blush-tone with spot embroidery and beaded straps is both whimsical and feminine. The classic silhouette with sexy low back is so glamorous.
I see this dress as the perfect choice for a wedding abroad. I adore the secret garden embroidery adorning this beautiful dress that oozes texture and intricate detail. The optional armbands feature a unique leaf-trim and make this wedding dress so unique.
Designed with a luxurious stretch lace, this fabulous off-the-shoulder dress is instantly captivating. The epitome of effortless glamour, Cien fuses a modern mermaid silhouette that hugs the curves.
You can see all the fabulous dresses from the Grace Loves Lace Icon 2018 collection in the gallery below. To book an appointment at the Grace Loves Lace boutique in London visit graceloveslace.com.au/london-showroom.

What do you get when you cross wedding personalisation with a less-than-traditional approach to wedding attire? The answer: Wedding Converse. The trend for re-writing the wedding rule book and doing things your own way is as hot as it’s ever been. It’s therefore no wonder Wedding Converse is the shoe designer everyone’s talking about. What’s not to love about a couple in matching customised wedding trainers?
According to Sarah Mahoune, who founded Wedding Converse four years ago, more brides than ever are choosing to rock up the aisle wearing flats, not least because simply being comfortable is a big part of enjoying the day (and the late-night dancing). The trend really hit the headlines in 2017 when Serena Williams wore a pair of personalised wedding trainers with her dress.
Sarah explained that the shoes are also being used to surprise a partner or the wedding guests. A pair of personalised Converse can feature your new name, a private joke or a silly slogan… Instagram moment and guaranteed ‘ahhs’ all-round!
Pick your perfect pair, from traditional Converse pumps to trendy high tops, and the Wedding Converse team will customise them. You can choose your own wording, wedding date and colours, and can even choose if you want laces or ribbons and even the tags.
I love anything sparkly, so I’m very excited about the Swarovski crystal twinkle-toe option; if you want some added bling, the Swarovski crystals will bedazzle your guests. The rose gold pair are obviously a winner, but we also predict that, hot on the heels of the white trainer trend, we’ll see more brides making a statement in black high tops. If you are seeking understated chic you can even add your wedding date to a badge based on the iconic Converse All Star logo.
Whether you want to make your wedding outfits extraordinary, need a pair of dancing shoes, or want to advertise you newly-wed status on honeymoon, Wedding Converse are fun, fabulous and truly individual.
Priced from around £85 for a classic Converse with name and date they compare very well with the price of traditional bridal shoes. You can view the full range of options and order your customised wedding trainers online at weddingconverse.co.uk.
