A Music Themed Wedding at Buckland House

Vinyl record signed by wedding guests

Anyone with a passion for music will love the little details of this music inspired wedding at Buckland House. As Ceren and Chris met through their love of music, their wedding of course had to feature the odd music note and vinyl record!

Following a ceremony in the church alongside the venue they enjoyed a marquee reception before partying the night away with their guests in the manor house, which they’d hired for the whole weekend for their friends and family to stay in.

We are delighted to share these fabulous pictures by Lee Maxwell Photography…

“As we met through music we decided this would be a good theme to have at our wedding. Our approach to the day was very relaxed, and to keep costs down we made as much as we could ourselves.

“All the companies we went through, provided us with such an amazing service and having our friends and family celebrate our wedding with us absolutely made our day.”

The Best Value Blonde Haircare Products Ever?

This post The Best Value Blonde Haircare Products Ever? first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Are you looking to get your blonde hair in great condition before your wedding? Do you long for luscious, golden locks? Well I have been using some incredible high quality hair products which are amazing value for money.

Creightons Sunshine Blonde is for colour treated and naturally blonde hair. Used daily it helps to enhance both colour and shine as it contains Pro-vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to repair split ends and damaged cuticles. The Sunshine Blonde range enhances moisture and suppleness to soothe frizz for easy styling.

I am naturally a brunette but have spent most of my life changing from brunette to blonde. Having been ‘natural’ for nearly five years, a few months ago I decided I needed a change and go blonde again, so I had my hair cut short and highlighted. It’s odd when people refer to me now as “the lady with blonde hair”!

I have been using popular ‘off the shelf’ shampoos and conditioners, but nothing special. I was recently sent some of the Creightons Sunshine Blonde range to try, and I was really excited to see how they enhanced my colour.

I have to say I love them! I was a little sceptical because the price is so low (I’ll cover that in a mo) but they really are fantastic.

I tried the following products from the Creightons Sunshine Blonde range…

Sunshine Blonde Extra Moisturising Shampoo is a gentle shampoo that contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and sunscreens to help protect and enhance your colour. It doesn’t lather up quite as much as other shampoos I have used, but your hair feels instantly cleansed (you know the feeling!).

Sunshine Blonde Extra Moisturising Shampoo

After using shampoo I then use conditioner. Sunshine Blonde Extra Moisturising Conditioner is an ultra-nourishing conditioner and also contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and sunscreens like the shampoo – it feels so silky. I usually leave my conditioner on for a minute or two, whilst I clean my body, and then wash it out. I don’t know if this helps but I like to think it does.

Sunshine Blonde Extra Moisturising Conditioner

I wash my hair every day. I know I probably shouldn’t, but these products are perfect for everyday use. I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner for a week now and I started to see a difference in about three days; my colour looks so much more vibrant.

The other products I have been using are Sunshine Blonde Tone Correcting Shampoo and Sunshine Blonde Tone Correcting Conditioner.

Sunshine Blonde Tone Correcting Shampoo Sunshine Blonde Tone Correcting Conditioner

These products have violet pigments and UV filters which help correct unwanted brassy tones, brightening blonde hair. As I have only recently had my colour re-done (about a month ago) I don’t think I really had any brassy tones. The tone correcting shampoo and conditioner are to be used two to three times per week, and as I have only used them a few times I am not completely sure if they have improved the colour. If the enhancing shampoo and conditioner are anything to go by, if you have brassy tones, I’m sure they will work brilliantly.

These products have made my hair feel really soft and my slightly dry ends now look nourished. I have never really had greasy hair, but some other shampoos have made my hair feel a little greasy; these don’t. I still wash my hair every day but I could go at least two days between washes using this range. I really do love them.

Now the price. Well, how much do you pay for your haircare products? I have always found that colour care and enhancing products always seem at least twice the price of other ‘normal’ products. Not the Creightons Sunshine Blonde range. Oh no. How much do you think these products are? No, think again… these award-winning haircare products are ONLY £1… and not for a piddly hotel sized bottle, but a full 250ml one!

I was apprehensive about using a £1 shampoo, but I am now a complete convert. You can now buy these products from Tesco and Morrisons, and Creightons also do a brunette range, so the next time I’m ‘au naturel’ I know which range I will be buying.

The Last Night of Freedometer Stag and Hen Predictions

This post The Last Night of Freedometer Stag and Hen Predictions first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Last Night of Freedometer

Last Night of Freedom’s new tool shows that 4100 stag and hen groups will embark on cities around the world this weekend…

Last Night of Freedom is issuing a ‘stag and hen Armageddon’ warning around the world for this weekend, 2nd July. Their new technology tool, the Last Night of Freedometer, predicts that over 4100 stag and hen groups will be hitting towns around the world, including Marbella, Krakow, Manchester and Cardiff. Launched last week, the Last Night of Freedometer reveals how many stag and hen groups are due to celebrate in different cities across the world each week.

Last Night of Freedometer 2nd July 2016

“Stag and Hen dos are ingrained in our culture and it’s really interesting to be able to determine the exact location and number of groups for each weekend.” says Matt Mavir, managing director of Last Night of Freedom. “It will also prove incredibly useful for forward planning for venues, local councils, and local residents. Bars, clubs and town centres will be able to predict larger and potentially livelier crowds, and ensure they have the resources to manage them. Being able to prepare in advance will prevent places from being caught short and will no doubt result in better weekends for all.”

The brand new tool, based on industry figures, shows that this weekend’s busiest location in the world will be Prague, as 237 stag groups and 14 hen dos are expected to take over. Dublin follows, with an expected 125 stag parties and 108 hen dos, and Newcastle, Liverpool, Amsterdam and Bournemouth are all predicted to have over 150 groups invade.

The Last Night of Freedometer is part of Last Night of Freedom’s leading research into the stag and hen do industry. Previous research carried out includes the top ten locations of the last 15 years, the amount spent on stag and hen weekends, the alcohol units consumed and the likelihood of group members cheating whilst away.

Lost My Name Books – The Perfect Gift for Your Flower Girl and Pageboy

This post Lost My Name Books – The Perfect Gift for Your Flower Girl and Pageboy first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Children reading Lost My Name books

If you are looking for gift ideas for your flower girl or pageboy we may have found just the thing.

Lost My Name books are personalised picture books based around the letters of a child’s name. The little girl or boy looses her/his name and goes on a magical adventure to find the letters of their name, meeting wonderful characters along the way. For example, a girl called Emily would meet an Elephant, Mermaid, Inuit, Lion and Yeti.

Each child’s name creates its own unique adventure making the story uniquely theirs, and the illustrations in the book are incredible. Hand-drawn illustrations meet high-tech systems on every page, bringing their personalised book to life.

I have children of my own, and we have one of these fantastic books for each of them. Freya has just turned four and loves books. She was so drawn into the story and after the little girl found her first two letters, F and R, Freya was very excited that she might have the same name as her. Her excitement when the little girl had found all the letters on her magical journey and was called Freya was wonderful. This book has now become her favourite and has been requested every night since she got it!

Our youngest daughter, Mia, is 9 months old, and I can’t wait to read her story to her when she is older and see her reaction; I’m sure she will love it as much as her big sister.

The ordering process is very simple and user friendly. You choose a girl or boy and the look of the child, enter your child’s name, choose the design of the book and place the order… simple.

Girl reading Lost My Name book

There are options for the style of book, i.e. paperback, hardback, boxed, etc, and you can even personalise the introduction in the book. If you are ordering more than one book and your children have some of the same letters in their names you can choose to have different characters appear in the book, making them more personal. The books can be ordered in 9 languages.

Here’s what some people have said about the books:

“We bought this book for my son as a thank you present for being our page boy at our wedding, he loved it!” – Jenna

“Our ring bearer has a very unusual name, so it is great for him to have a gift featuring his name” – Kristen

“I was struggling to find a gift for our niece for being a flower girl at our wedding when I stumbled upon your thoughtful books” – Sara

Give the children involved in your wedding day a one-of-a-kind gift that will be a wonderful keepsake and also help to keep them entertained during the day. From just £19.99 these books make the perfect gift.

A Magnificent Wedding at Tony Caluga Circus

This post A Magnificent Wedding at Tony Caluga Circus first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Bride on trapeze hoop above groom

So, this is what happens when a trapeze artist marries a clown! As Rocío and Benjamin grew up with circus roots, of course the circus had to play a big part in their wedding. The whole wedding day took place at the circus, in the big top, where their friends and family shared a funny, emotional and beautiful day with them.

We’re sure you’ll love these incredible pictures that tell the story of this super-cool wedding, captured by Mónica Muñoz of Wildbrides…

“Our wedding was inspired by our roots. Benjamin originally wanted a church ceremony but I convinced him we should have our wedding in the circus. We were born there, we lived our happiness and sorrows there – the clap of the audience is our life.

“The ceremony was very emotive. Beforehand I was very calm and laughed a lot, but when I arrived at the circus I went to the tent with my uncle, who is like a second father, and my father was waiting for me. When I took him by the arm memories came into my head – I am his spoiled child and we are like friends – and at that time ‘Mi Princesa’, a song by David Bisbal, started to play. We started to cry while we were walking to the altar. When my father left me at the altar he hugged Benjamin so hard, and then hugged me and told me my friend is going. That broke my heart; we cried and laughed all night.”
