A Rustic Styled Wedding Shoot in the Slovenian Countryside

This post A Rustic Styled Wedding Shoot in the Slovenian Countryside first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Couple about to kiss in front of rustic door in Slovenian countryside

Ok ladies and gents, we have pretty overload for you all this morning with the pictures of this beautiful rustic countryside inspiration shoot.

Set in Slovenia, the team behind the shoot created amazing inspiration based on a vintage, rustic theme, in and around an old family home. We love the details, from the quaint wedding stationery and fabulous florals to the beautiful wedding dress and cool groomswear.

If you are looking for rustic or vintage wedding inspiration then you are going to adore these ideas.

Thanks to Katja and Simon Photography for sharing these really cool pictures…

“This styled shoot with a rustic theme was inspired after opening the doors of an old house that belongs to our family. Underneath the dust we found so many old treasures that were just too lovely to throw away. The house was full of vintage decor, pocket watches, old photos and paintings. It was exciting to see all those items in the daylight again, and that is when the idea about a styled photo shoot was born.

“We contacted some of our friends and favourite vendors who helped us create this memorable rustic and vintage themed wedding setting. We waited until spring so we could capture it all under the blooming cherry trees and on the fresh green grass outside the house.”

The Unspoken Duties of Being a Bridesmaid

This post The Unspoken Duties of Being a Bridesmaid first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Congratulations, you’ve been selected as a bridesmaid – but now comes the hard part. It’s not all drinking bubbly and pouring over wedding magazines (well, it kind of is, but there’s some planning to be done in between). As a hen party aficionado, Lauren of Last Night of Freedom rounds up the unspoken duties of being a bridesmaid. Basically, plan an unforgettable hen party, and you’re halfway there…

Locations

As one of the chosen ones, it falls on you to plan the most unforgettable hen weekend. Ever. And, the location is the most important part of the celebrations.

Beach in Marbella

There are a variety of gorgeous cities to choose from – marvellous Marbs to notorious Newcastle, picturesque Poznan to bustling Barcelona – so make sure you pick the absolute right one for the hen (it is her last night of freedom, after all), and book early to avoid disappointment.

Activities

In between all the celebrating, sipping bubbly and, just generally, causing carnage in your wake, there’s a huge selection of hen activities to while away the days.

Forbidden Nights hen party activity

Indulge your inner Robin Hood on the archery field, bomb about the countryside in a huge 4×4, or get creative in a boozy cocktail class and catch the gorgeous boys of Forbidden Nights in action. There are endless possibilities for her cheeky send-off into married life.

Costumes

Hilarious and group-themed costumes are, most definitely, the best way to celebrate the hen weekend (and embarrass the blushing bride-to-be at the same time).

Carry Me hen party costumes from Last Night of Freedom

From sexy sailors to red-hot air hostesses, and even Baywatch babes, get dressed up and party ’til the early morning. And, for those bridesmaids feeling particularly brave, you could even don the Party Animal onesies, or the fascinating and oh-so-popular Carry Me Costumes.

Personalised T-Shirts

A personalised T-Shirt is a staple of any good hen party.

Hen Party T-Shirts

There’s no better way to let everyone within a 10 foot radius know you are on a hen weekend (and, therefore, can’t be held accountable for the amount of cocktails you intend to drink). Although, good luck explaining how you got that nickname to the handsome gent at the bar…

Accessories

It doesn’t have to stop at costumes and T-shirts. It’s the law of the hen weekend to adorn the bride-to-be in sashes, headboppers, fairy wings, tiaras, veils and, of course, willy shot glasses.

Hen Party Accessories

In fact, any accessory with a willy on is perfect for her very last night of freedom.

Games

On a hen weekend it’s unlikely everyone knows each other, and there’s nothing like a game to break the ice in the group.

Hen Party Games

There are novelty drinking games, such as tic tac toe and shot roulette, to the cheekier games such as Never Have I Ever (you may have to cover her mother-in-law’s ears) and penis piñata. A game will get everyone ready for a fabulous night out before you know it.

Shropshire Petals Hessian Confetti Bag with Kaleidoscope Confetti

Rather than rely on guests bringing confetti, couples now prefer to provide their own, choosing confetti in colours to match or contrast their wedding theme. The perfect choice is natural petal confetti, which looks stunning in photos as it flutters delicately over the newly married couple.

Shropshire Petals Hessian Confetti Bag with Blush Confetti

As well as the choice of colours, couples can now choose how to display their confetti, and Shropshire Petals, renowned for their Shropshire Box, wicker baskets and confetti pails, has just launched their beautiful new Hessian Confetti Bag.

Detail on Shropshire Petals Hessian Confetti Bag

The bag can be placed where the confetti moment will take place, ready for guests to take a handful, or the bag can be carried by a member of the bridal party who can then hand it to each guest as they gather after the ceremony.

With it’s natural cream colour the Hessian Confetti Bag will suit any wedding theme, and it holds five litres of confetti which is enough for 50 handfuls. Prices for the Hessian Confetti Bag, with natural petal confetti, start from £58.50.

A 100 Years of Wedding Dresses Styled Shoot

This post A 100 Years of Wedding Dresses Styled Shoot first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

100 Years of Wedding Dresses header

Wow, how wedding dresses have changed over the years. We love this styled shoot that showcases the different styles of wedding dresses in the last 100 years.

You will see that modern day wedding dresses have taken a lot of inspiration from years gone by, with current collections using a lot of lace and hand-sewn detailing to create exquisite designs with details reminiscent of bridal styles from the past.

Big thanks to the creative team and Noelle Kraft Photography for sharing these amazing pictures with us…

“The rich history of Edgewater Hall inspired our 100 Years of Wedding Dresses Shoot. We created 14 different wedding looks that showcase the beauty of the everyday woman, and blend together the history of Edgewater Hall with that of the wedding dresses.

“We worked with a beautiful collection of wedding dresses that ranged in fashion and style from the 1900s to modern times. One couldn’t help being taken back in time as each dress accentuated the uniqueness and individuality of their era.

“Much credit is to be extended to the locals involved in this shoot, including the four bridal and vintage boutiques located in Staten Island, as well as Noelle Kraft Photography and local production company Shadow and Sound. Shooting this project at the Edgewater Hall was the ‘pièce de résistance’, as it gave the shoot the grand, historic ambience of yesteryear it needed to be successful.”
