A Pretty Country Wedding At Iscoyd Park In Shropshire

Although Laura and Pete live and work in London, they both loved the idea of a pretty country wedding and fell in love with Iscoyd Park in Shropshire at first sight. ‘It was beautiful without being too formal, and the interiors were so stylish,’ says Laura. The team was so friendly and the owner Phil seemed so genuine and enthusiastic.’

The couple’s wedding was on Sunday 30th August and they hired Iscoyd Park from the Saturday to the Monday (Monday was Bank Holiday). As Laura and Pete arrived on the Saturday and did not leave until the Monday, they effectively had a three day wedding celebration! ‘On the Saturday night we had a barbecue and played rounders with our family and the wedding party,’ explains Laura. ‘It was a lovely way to relax on the evening before the wedding. We hired Iscoyd Park exclusively. There were some rooms and cottages on-site for some family to stay in.’

Laura was also delighted to have the help of Charlotte and Jen from Iscoyd Park. ‘They were amazing: so helpful and always smiling, even through last minute changes and odd requests,’ says Laura.

Laura and Pete first met eight years ago when Laura was at medical school. The couple dated for six years and were engaged for nearly two years before getting married. The main reason for the slightly long engagement was their very busy jobs (Laura is a doctor and Pete works in IT in a bank). ‘What with working 13 hour day shifts, night shifts and weekends on my part, it didn’t leave much time for wedding planning! However, it was such a fun and creative contrast to work,’ Laura explains.

I am sure you will agree with me that Laura and Pete’s pretty country wedding at Iscoyd Park in Shropshre is just stunning. The photographs are by Jill Thorning-Jensen who also has her own portrait website.

Laura wore a beautiful wedding dress by Quiana Bridal, perfect for her pretty country wedding to Pete. The dress was corseted and had a full skirt. The lace jacket that went over the top was covered in little pearls.

How elegant is the room where the couple had their ceremony at Iscoyd Park?

wedding ceremony

Laura is Jewish and Pete had a Christian upbringing and they wanted to incorporate both faiths in their ceremony. Their rabbi Paul Glantz enabled them to do so. ‘There were joint readings from my mum and sister, Pete’s sister and her husband, as well as Pete’s mother who read from Corinthians,’ explains Laura. ‘There was also a blessing in Hebrew from my grandma.’
