I am in awe of this beautiful hellebore and quartz crystal wedding styling concept. Every time I look at these pictures I can’t help but smile, and I hope they make you feel the same way.
Colourful geodes are a huge wedding trend – they are everywhere – so it’s lovely to see inspiration focussing on white rock quartz crystal to showcase a twist on the modern form. With a light palette of white with the softest blue and dashes of pink, these styling details are oh so pretty. Everything is very minimal, simplistic and romantic.
Hellebore, sometimes known as the Christmas or Lenten rose, comes in a variety of shades. They make the most wonderful addition to this styling concept, used on the table design, bridal bouquet and also in the bride’s hair. Another flower used is the snake’s head fritillary, which always excites attention due to its highly unusual form; a large dropping head (the snake’s head) and all over checked pattern. I’m so excited to see these used in this shoot as I was admiring them at Gardeners World Live just a few weeks ago!
Pure white linen elegantly drapes on the floor giving the tablescape a soft, romantic look, and the place settings with beautiful marble chargers, white china and single stem hellebore complement the cute glass vases of flowers.
The bridal style in this shoot is soft and pretty too. The bride wears a romantic long tulle skirt in the palest of blue, teamed with a lace half-sleeve, short top. If you’re having a winter wedding and want to wear something warmer, you’ll love the beautiful cable knit jumper worn with the skirt. I’m totally loving the groom’s style too, with his tweed suit teamed with red shoes!

Delicate and Soft
“Our inspiration for this shot came from white rock quartz crystals. We developed inspiration for a simple yet elegant couple who love a minimalistic style with a romantic touch. Away from the trendy geode theme seen everywhere lately, we wanted to create a delicate and soft theme with the main focus on white rock crystals, the main topic of the design.
“Our bride’s two-piece wedding dress combines a floral lace crop top with a tulle skirt in an amazingly soft blue. The dress comes with a second skirt you can add on top of the tulle skirt as a second layer. Spring evenings can still be quite chilly. The bride combines the dress with beautifully hand-knitted tops made of luxurious merino wool.
“Two stunning headpieces feature – a hair comb and hair clip – beautifully embellished with flowers. The base of hellebores combines with snake’s head fritillary.”
Crystal Inspired
“For the colour palette we used many shades of white, blue and grey to reflect the colours of the crystals. The colours and structure of the crystals inspired the amazing calligraphy stationery.
“Spring flowers like hellebore, featuring pops of a pink blush and green, matched the colour of the delicate snake’s head fritillaria. The loose, modern bridal bouquet combines these flowers with some branches that already show some green leaf tips. The soft colour palette complements the clean space of the location perfectly.
Minimalistic and Delicate
“The table design comes in a quite minimalistic and delicate design. We chose tableware designed by London-based designer Bodo Sperlein for DIBBERN Fine Bone China. The Carrara collection reveals the unique decorative qualities of marble. Neutral in colour with an organic distribution in decoration across the surface of each piece, this collection offers a plethora of understated variety to any table setting and matched our theme perfectly, since marble and rock crystals are both made of the same substance, quartz.
“To the tableware we combined vintage wine glasses made of smoked glass, and silver-pleated cutlery completes the look. Thin, long candles fixed to rock crystal pieces look like extension of the crystal points.”
