Creative Woodland Wedding Inspiration with Bluebells

This post Creative Woodland Wedding Inspiration with Bluebells first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Whenever I think of spring (which is quite a lot recently, as I’m longing for some spring air) I think of the bluebell woods. I love coming across a carpet of bluebells in woodland because, for me, it epitomises spring time. If you’re planning a spring wedding and want to have incredible pictures that capture the beauty of the season, a wedding venue that has a bluebell woodland is the perfect way. Think about the picture possibilities with a backdrop of a tranquil woodland surrounded with a sea of beautiful bluebells.

Today I have a really cool, creative shoot for you which showcases some fabulous ways to style a woodland wedding, plus some very creative ways to use bluebells.

The creative team made the most of the natural woodland surrounds. They created such a visual delight with the tablescape adorned with moss, an array of delicate blue and white flowers and a super-cute moss rabbit to add another flare of spring. The place settings are very natural with a ribbon-tied napkin laid with a small delphinium flower, a sprig of fern and of course, a bluebell – simple yet stylish. The white tiered wedding cake is also adorned with the pretty white and blue flowers to complement the styling.

The location for the shoot is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding, so the team styled a beautiful ceremony set-up, complete with a stunning floral backdrop of large LOVE letters and a large willow circle. There is also a rustic arch with complementing floral arrangement. These ethereal styling ideas all work so beautifully against the bluebell woodland setting, giving a romantic bohemian vibe to the concept.

If you fancy a woodland wedding but are looking for more of a rock chick vibe, you will love the look the styling team created for the second bride in the shoot. These alternative wedding ideas include neon, leather jackets, and even an incredible living cape made from the forest fern and bluebells; totally unique!

Styled by Nadia Di Tullio, the fabulous HBA Photography has captured these woodland wedding ideas so perfectly, and I am delighted to share them with you. Enjoy!

Bluebell Woods

“The newly formed Field and Forest Weddings, run by Charlotte and Dave Garner, is a stunning location hosting woodland weddings, natural ceremonies and other events. They invited us to the beautiful village of Yoxall, in the Staffordshire countryside, to have a nosey round the stunning bluebell woods at this new wedding venue.

“Have you ever seen a sea of bluebells? It was stunning and the perfect place for some dreamy wedding photos. We are lucky to know some very talented and lovely people within our industry, and they were all happy to contribute to our ideas.”

Bohemian Vibe

“In the morning we set about capturing the first part of the ‘story’. This focused around the venue itself and everything it has to offer; the blessing circle, ceremony arch, tablescape and the stunning woodland itself. George and Sophie, our bride and groom for the day, are a real life couple, so it was easy to bring the look to life. They were great together. There was so much love and an amazing connection between them.

“We were keen to create a bohemian, slightly ethereal, almost pre-Raphaelite vibe to the images. The gossamer layers of the gorgeous Walter Watters gown really suited Sophie and the tone of the shoot, and the blousy floral hairpiece sat well with the boho bob hairstyle. Sophie carried a gorgeous sheaf style bouquet, wrapped with raw silk, as she walked through the woods.

“George wore an awesome bow tie teamed with a casual suit for a relaxed look. Nadia waited until we were in the woods to make George’s buttonhole so it could feature the bluebells from the site. She even managed to find pheasant feathers to pop in too.”

Secret Woodland Party

“Despite the rain and rather windswept environment, the tablescape turned out beautifully. It looked like we’d stumbled upon a secret woodland party just for two. The enchanting wedding cake, complete with it’s floating tier of flowers, was the real showstopper. Magical!”

Rock Chick Chic

“The second part of the shoot was less about creating a wedding story and more about being creative, taking inspiration from the environment. Ben had noticed a raggedy part of woodland on a previous visit, much less romantic and far more rock ‘n’ roll. Cue our second model Suki.

“Suki looked the epitome of rock chick chic, and we added in a touch of atmospheric smokey background tinged with just the right amount of neon!

“Owning the ASOS dress in the process, she performed an effortless transition in the blink of an eye, morphing into an almost elfin-like vision in a pink lace dress, flower crown and floral cuffs. Not forgetting her companion Scampi dog, who co-ordinated perfectly with her own custom-made floral collar!”

Living Cape

“Finally, Ben was keen to make the most of the bluebells, showing that this stunning landscape was not only perfect for a woodland wedding, but also as a magnificent backdrop for creativity. With that in mind, Ben briefed Nadia with his idea and they set to work creating an image. A single shot where the landscape meets the model. And so the living cape, growing from the ground up, was fashioned around the very regal and simply stunning Soraya – and she wore it so well!”
