Hauntingly Romantic Autumn Wedding Inspiration

This post Hauntingly Romantic Autumn Wedding Inspiration first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

Happy Halloween! This is my favourite time of year; the leaves turning glorious colours, the longer nights, fireworks and bonfires, and, of course, Halloween. What better way to join in with today’s festivities than to share this unbelievably cool Hauntingly Romantic Autumn Wedding Inspiration shoot?

If you long for an autumn wedding then you will love these wedding styling ideas. OK, I’ve bigged up the Halloween aspect for the purposes of today, but this concept of moody autumn colours creates such a romantic, almost Gothic vibe, perfect for a glorious autumn wedding.

Bride and groom with eyes shut

The creative team used an eclectic mix of gold, black, burgundy, white and muted caramels to create a visual delighted. The dark tablescape with marble place mats, black glassware and black and gold cutlery really sets the scene of this intriguing wedding concept.

The styling details exude a moody, romantic and vintage feel, and the use of natural elements including leaves, berries, feathers and even a skull add a touch of rustic charm to the design.

I love the way the creative team made this shoot into a beautiful, modern take on Halloween rather than using a traditional colour palette. The dark colours of course set the scene, but the use of the skull, natural floral eye masks, breathtaking flowers and incredible black wedding cake with gold leaf detail really add a hauntingly romantic ambiance.

So, feast your eyes on some of the most romantic Halloween wedding inspiration you will ever see…

Moody Autumn Wedding

“A wedding is a transition into the newness of marriage and life as a union. What could be a more perfect inspiration for a moody autumn wedding? With harvest as a major marker of autumn, we wanted to create a contemporary interpretation of Grant Wood’s American Gothic.

“We imagined our couple as farmers, younger than Grant’s characters yet still embodying the stern, hard weathered perspective of the painting. This harshness, coupled with the vulnerability of love, created a tense beauty that we weaved throughout the story.” – Revel Petals

An Elegant Take on Halloween

“Instead of the traditional orange and black colours of Halloween, we focused on a palette of gold and black, accented with moody burgundy, dusty lavender, ethereal whites and muted shades of caramel.

“The foliage masks, crafted by Marisa of Revel Petals, incorporated an elegant take on Halloween. Marisa crafted the masks from leaves and sticks, prickly flowers, the spiny arms of succulents and dried money tree wisps. While the macabre elements of Halloween could have become too gruesome for a wedding, we used the masks and darker mood elements sparingly. This created a hauntingly romantic tone that easily paired with the Gothic, Victorian and contemporary style.” – The Blushing Bird
