Today I have a whole lot of pretty for you in this amazing ‘Modern Romantic’ wedding inspiration shoot. The shoot took place at one of the most elegant and tranquil wedding venues in California, Lombardi House, tucked away in the heart of Hollywood.
What a perfect setting for such romantic styling! The beautiful colour palette of pastel mauve, blush, yellow and peachy orange really pops and comes to life. It’s so eye-catching and the perfect summer wedding palette.
The tablescape is so ethereal, and the gorgeous blooms, pretty pink tableware, rose gold cutlery and natural material table runners complement one another so well and give a nod to modern romance.
I love nothing more that beautiful wedding chairs. They can make all the difference when styling a wedding venue, and the gold chairs used around the table complete the look. Talking of chairs, the cool chill-out lounge area in the garden is a fabulous idea for a summer wedding soirée.
Some people may not like the thought of yellow as part of their wedding styling, but in this modern romantic styling it works so well. What do you think?

So Many Possibilities
“Lombardi House instantly transports you to a modern barn in Napa or a Southern country home. The sounds of the streets fade away as you walk through the tree-lined drive to the white barn behind the Victorian-style farmhouse. There are so many possibilities when it comes to decor at this venue, and every one, whether modern, rustic or traditional, would look perfect.”
Unexpected and Unique
“We chose to play off the unique palette that comes around for just a few weeks in the Southern California flower mart. A romantic, unexpected combination of pastel mauve and blush paired with yellows and orange.
“We wanted our tablescape and decor to be luxe but not over-the-top – a little traditional but unexpected and unique. Our setting included pink cement chargers paired with lavender plates, elegant, modern flatware and glassware, and soft, silk textiles. We played around with the typical centrepiece placement creating an asymmetrical arrangement with vessels in different shapes and sizes, plus apricots and garden roses romantically placed along the silk runner.
“Not much is needed when it comes to the Lombardi House grounds, but a stunning, lush lounge area never hurts!”
