A Rustic Themed Wedding at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool

I have such a lovely wedding for you today. Emma and Chris had a beautiful, traditional church wedding ceremony with their family and friends and then chose the fabulous Titanic Hotel in Liverpool for their wedding reception and party – and wow, what a celebration it was!

The Titanic Hotel is such an impressive venue with a wealth of history and charm. Emma and Chris arrived at the venue in a fabulous vintage car, whilst their guests travelled in a vintage bus; the perfect start to the celebrations.

I love the wedding styling details that adorned the hotel – rustic yet still in keeping with the beautiful hotel decor. Each table had a tall floral display of either a beautiful floral mix or a pretty blossom tree with hanging glass baubles with candles, and the ceiling shone with suspended paper lanterns and festoon lighting. To add to the rustic styling, the chairs had pretty hessian sashes tied into bows.

I adore the traditional four tier wedding cake with the hessian detail, set upon an oak slice, giving the cake a rustic twist, and what better place to display the wedding cake than on an old rum barrel?

Emma looked a million dollars in her stunning beaded Madeline Gardner wedding dress with a pair of sparkly Jimmy Choos, and Chris looked pretty dapper too in his cool blue suit and check waistcoat.

With the backdrop of the hotel and Stanley Dock, photographer David Walters Photography took some truly amazing pictures…

Rustic Theme

“Our wedding exceeded all our expectations – we couldn’t have wished for a better day. We loved the idea of a rustic theme, but wanted it to also be in keeping with our wedding venue, the Titanic Hotel Liverpool.

“We used hessian and kraft card for all our stationery, and carried this through to our room décor. Red Events Creative dressed the room with chair covers and hessian sashes, festoon lighting and paper lanterns, and Joseph Massie Flowers created our beautiful table centres.

“As family is so important for us we didn’t want to leave anybody out. We wanted to make sure we had things to entertain the children so made activity boxes in place of favours and put together a homemade sweet buffet, and the adult favours were chocolate and lemon macarons.”

“It was great that we could make use of the venue’s rum barrels. We used one to display our cake on, and one formed part of our homemade photo booth, along with props and fairy lights to hang the pictures on. My auntie made our cake as a gift, and we decorated it to match our stationery and room styling.

“Entertainment was extremely important to us. We booked singing waiters, which was a bit of a gamble as we weren’t sure how our guests would react, but everyone loved them. Chris’s friend and his band, Rodimus, provided the evening entertainment, and we also used Wedding Jam to DJ in between sets. We really wanted the band to play our first dance and have something to get the party started, so we picked ‘You and Me Song’ by The Wannadies. It starts slow and then builds up, and the wording was just right for us.”
