Amethyst-Inspired Purple and Gold Wedding Styling

This post Amethyst-Inspired Purple and Gold Wedding Styling first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

I love, love, love this amethyst inspired wedding inspiration! It’s modern, sophisticated and, of course, includes the semiprecious violet-hued stone, amethyst.

We have seen a lot of purple tones feature in weddings over recent years, but this is now evolving, becoming more luxurious and definitely a lot more modern. Lavender tones are much more ‘now’ than bold purples, and with the popularity of geode and gemstones in wedding styling, amethyst is right on trend!

The creative team used gold and feathers to enhance the opulence of the styling details, creating such a visual delight. This really is styling for modern brides looking for something alternative, whilst still beautiful and feminine.

The feathers and gold have been used so elegantly. Santos Costura designed this stunning feathered-top dress; and just wait until you see the gold lace dress! The amethyst watercolour and gold foil wedding stationery offers a luxurious, modern design, and the shoot also features one of the prettiest I have seen. The fabulous flowers in shades of purple, the gold cutlery and gold rimmed glasses create such opulence. Talking of opulence, the dessert table really is something special – I adore the amethyst geode cake.

Igualada Cemetery

The setting for this gemstone inspired shoot is Igualada Cemetery, or ‘Cementiri Nou’ (New Cemetery), in Barcelona, built between 1985 and 1994 to replace ‘Old Cemetery’. Highly regarded as one of the most poetic works of twentieth century Catalan architecture, this is such an incredible location for a shoot.

I’m sure these amethyst wedding styling ideas will blow you away. This really is gemstone inspiration like you have never seen before, and we have Nuria Cienfuegos Photography to thank for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Luxurious Elements

“Our initial inspiration for this shoot came from the semi-precious stone, Amethyst. As the idea started to mature we decided to bring the design to the next stage, introducing luxurious elements like gold and feathers, without forgetting the modern and sophisticated style we like to express.”
