How did your business get started and who works at Angela G Photographer?

I studied photography, worked in several well-known portrait studios and then started my own business shooting portraits and eventually weddings as well.

I’m the only official employee but have an amazing network of other professional photographers who second shoot for me.

Had you always wanted to be a photographer?

I always wanted to do something creative, and as soon as I did a course on black and white darkroom photography I was hooked!

Can you remember how old you were when you took your first picture? What was it of?

I was about six years old and it was a picture of my dad.

Which areas of the UK do you cover?

I cover Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, London and Essex.

What do you feel sets you apart from other wedding photographers?

I know that most couples don’t feel photogenic or enjoy having their photo taken. I always make sure that they feel relaxed enough with me to interact naturally. That way I get real smiles and emotions.

How would you describe your photography style?

Unobtrusive, natural and fun.

What packages do you offer and what are your rates?

Couples can book by the hour for smaller weddings, starting from £300. Full day packages range from £1,295 to £1,995.

What is the best thing about your job?

I love seeing all the crazy, emotional, happy and romantic moments that happen at weddings.

Do you have a specialist area of photography?

I specialise in weddings, portraits and business images.

Who/what are your influences?

My influences change all the time, but the wedding photographers who inspire me most at the moment are Estie Thirion, Henry Chen and Lisa Devlin.

Do you have a favourite picture that you have taken (if you can choose!)? Why is this your favourite picture?

I love this one because it shows that you can have an amazing time on your wedding day, even if it is pouring with rain. All you need is each other.

What is your top tip for choosing a wedding photographer?

Choose someone that you feel comfortable with and who you can trust wholeheartedly to capture those important moments.

Random question… What was the last app you downloaded?

Instagram.

What’s your typical day like?

During the week I wake up early to edit photos, get my kids ready and drop them off at school/childcare and then go out and do newborn, pet or business shoots. On Saturdays I’m usually out shooting weddings and family portraits, or spending time with my family.
