I love the contrast between Catherine and Harry’s elegantly classic wedding at Ely Cathedral and their relaxed marquee reception in the garden of her parents’ house. ‘I did not have a theme for my wedding but the idea was to contrast the grandeur of the Cathedral (where I was at school and so there was an emotional tie to where I was getting married ) to the simplicity and relaxed atmosphere of a party in the garden,’ explains Catherine. The couple first met through Harry’s identical twin brother whilst Catherine was at Exeter University, and dated for eight years before getting engaged. ‘Harry proposed to me in Camps Bay in Cape Town while on holiday with my family,’ says Catherine. ‘We were visiting my sister who currently lives in South Africa, which meant I was surrounded by my family for all the immediate celebrations.’
Catherine chose the stunning ‘Lihi’ dress by Mira Zwillinger that she found at Browns Bride in London. She wore a Peter Langner Cathedral veil which suited the grandeur of the ceremony venue. Her other accessories included an antique gold Swarovski comb by Jennifer Behr, given to her by her future sister-in-law.
I am in no doubt that you will be inspired by Catherine and Harry’s elegantly classic wedding, which was photographed by Gill Flett. I also love the fact that Harry’s twin is marrying Catherine’s best friend next year-how amazing is that?

How beautiful is Catherine and Harry’s elegantly classic wedding? Their florist was Nicola Fowler of Mooi. Catherine chose an orchid bouquet.

How magnificent does Ely Cathedral look?

Catherine was keen that her bridesmaids were not in standard ‘bridesmaid dresses.’ Four of them wore dresses by Erin Featherston and her sister and sister in law wore dresses by Jill Stuart.

A beautiful photograph of Catherine and her bridesmaids. Catherine’s make up was by Kate Hughes.

I like the C for Catherine and H for Harry lights the couple had at their reception.
The couple had a wedding cake made of cheese, four layers were made of cheese, and one layer was a pork pie. This was put together by their caterer, Tom’s Cakes.
