Sarah and Richard’s chic London wedding certainly had an international flavour to it. There were Scottish (Richard) and Italian (Sarah) influences, and the couple had guests from Italy, Canada, America, Germany, Norway and Scotland. Sarah and Richard were married on the 12th September 2015 at the Royal Society of Arts in central London. They first met at a pub in Maida Vale, London, and dated for three years before getting engaged. Richard had planned to propose to Sarah in New York, but as Sarah explains, ‘apparently I foiled every plan, getting up when he had a special breakfast in bed planned, not leaving his side when he wanted to create a surprise moment at a restaurant. In the end Richard proposed whilst they were in the back of a New York taxi on their way home from dinner. ‘Apparently I didn’t answer, but he took my tears as a yes and we went to celebrate at the Hudson,’ says Sarah.
According to Sarah, the couple’s wedding was heavily influenced by the cities they love. ‘It was London mainly but there was also the Scottish influences on Richards’s side and the Italian on mine,’ says Sarah. ‘Our main colour was white which we used for the flowers and decorations, with a few hints of navy. We planned for the wedding to start late in the day and went for an evening look with our guests in black tie.’
