Anna is just one of those naturally beautiful brides who has an innate sense of elegance. I adore her ‘Willow’ Jenny Packham wedding dress that made her cry the first time she tried it on. Her mother also wore Jenny Packham or ‘JP’ as Anna refers to her as. Anna first met her husband Charles in North Carolina, USA, when they were eleven years old! ‘We went to the same school from 6th grade to 12th grade, but we didn’t become a couple until our last year of high school. I asked Charles out,’ says Anna.’Our first date was on January 27th 2006.’
The couple dated for seven years before getting engaged in New York where they were living at the time. Charles had requested a transfer to the company’s Stockholm office (I am originally from Sweden),’ explains Anna. ‘Unbeknownst to me, Charles had already bought the ring and was waiting for the transfer to be approved before proposing (the ring sat in his sock drawer for three months). The transfer got approved on Friday May 3rd, we spent the weekend in the Hamptons with his parents, and came home late on May 4th. I went upstairs to unpack whilst Charles went to get them a pizza. With a pizza box in hand, he rang my father for his permission to marry him. When he got home, I was in my sweatpants! Charles turned on some music and asked me to dance—not out of character, we love to dance together. Suddenly one of my favourite old Swedish songs started to play and before I knew it Charles was down on one knee asking me to marry him (in Swedish!). I cried, of course, and said YES!’
Anna and Charles got married on June 27th 2015 at the Winterviken (Alfred Novel’s old dynamite factory and now operated by renowned Swedish chef Markus Aujalay).
