Are you planning a classic wedding? If the answer is yes, you will undoubtedly be inspired by Kirsten and Fraser’s stunning big day. The couple first met on a date set up by a very close mutual friend. ‘I had grown up with him and he was Fraser’s best friend from school,’ says Kirsten. ‘He ended up being the best man on the day so had plenty to say about the two of us.’ Kirsten and Fraser dated for just under two years before getting engaged. ‘The proposal was very romantic,’ explains Kirsten. ‘We went to Edinburgh Castle and Fraser had hired the balcony in the Grand Hall. There was no one else up there. Just a red carpet, candles and champagne. When we went up to see the balcony I thought it was all set up for someone else.’ Obviously Kirsten was wrong, and Fraser had arranged it all for Kirsten!
The couple got married on the 22nd August 2015 in the church of Kirsten’s old school. The reception took place at Dumfries House. ‘When we first visited the house we both fell in love with it instantly,’ says Kirsten.’ It has so much history behind it and has been maintained to the highest standard. We also had sole use, this made it feel extra special. The staff couldn’t do enough for us throughout the day.’
Kirsten as born and raised in Glasgow whilst Fraser was born in Ayrshire before moving to Glasgow for his last two years of secondary school. It was very important that there were Scottish elements to the couple’s wedding. ‘We’re very proud to both be Scottish,’ says Kirsten.
