Today I’d like to introduce you to the beautiful 2020 bridal collection from Alan Hannah – ‘Moonshadow’. The new collection sees boned corsets forming traditional, timeless silhouettes alongside more modern elements such as lace sleeves, keyhole bodices and feathered details.
Renowned for producing the highest quality of cuts in time enduring, classic and understated designs, designer Marguerite Hannah describes the new collection as “a labour of love”…
“The focus of the Alan Hannah Moonshadow 2020 collection is on timeless elegance and the evolution of cut. I wanted two looks which you could think of as oppositional but in fact work to create a lovely harmony. Sculptural structured dresses in Mikado and satin have a geometric simplicity with beautiful corsetry and boning. When this ethos is translated to softer fabrics like crepe and tulle the theme is seamless, but the softer fabrics move the collection to a subtly different place with the structure intact but softened by layering and fluidity which gives a real breadth to the collection.”
Marguerite’s creative development shines through each one of these new designs. Understated and effortlessly glamorous, the structured shapes create dresses with a magical essence.
One thing I particularly like about the Alan Hannah Moonshadow 2020 collection is the inclusion of bow detail on some of the designs, from traditional bows on the back of dresses to shoulder bow detail. Here are three of my favourite styles which include bows…
Aria
This stunning satin wedding dress with sweetheart corset bodice features a large bow on the back of the dress.
Jess
The large side bow detail on the Jess wedding dress looks amazing and accentuates the waistline.
Olivia
With its straight sheath skirt and peplum bodice, the tie bow shoulder detail makes a lovely addition to this traditional silhouette.
Every dress in the Alan Hannah Moonshadow 2020 collection is handcrafted with care, precision and passion from luxurious fabrics. You can find your local UK stockist at www.alanhannah.co.uk/stockists, and view the full collection in the gallery below.
