Tequila Rose Cocktails and Cupcakes

This post Tequila Rose Cocktails and Cupcakes first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog

It’s not often we share ideas for drinks, but today we’d like to introduce you to Tequila Rose. If you haven’t tried it before, you must! Tequila Rose is a unique blend of strawberry flavour cream liqueur and premium Mexican tequila, and it’s SO good!

A Perfect Hen Party Drink

If you are looking for a special drink for your hen party, or even your wedding (maybe for the evening as it might be a little much for the daytime), then this might be the tipple you are looking for.

Tequlia Rose Shots

I’m partial to a strawberry liqueur (usually in a cocktail), but I’m not usually a fan of tequila… however, I loved Tequila Rose!

I recently organised my sister’s hen party (feature coming soon) and I was sent a bottle of Tequila Rose to try; what better way to try it than with a group of hens! It’s a pretty pink colour, which was perfect for our hen party theme. It also made a really nice change from the wine and bubbles.

Tequila Rose Cocktails

Tequila Rose is a beautiful drink on its own (it’s too good to down in one; this one is a ‘sipping’ shot!), but it’s also really good in a cocktail.

Tequila Rose Cupcakes

Another fabulous way to enjoy Tequila Rose is to create some yummy cupcakes. Again, these are great for hen parties as they have a natural pink colour (or you could change the colour of the icing by adding a colouring).

Tequila Rose Cupcakes

This delicious recipe is by Baking Bar

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 150g Butter
  • 150g Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (or other flavour)
  • 1tsp Tequila Rose
  • A few drops of colouring (optional)
  • 150g Self Raising Flour
  • 2 tbsp Milk

Buttercream Frosting

  • 450g Icing Sugar
  • 110g Butter
  • 0.5tsp Salt
  • 2tbsp Tequila Rose
  • A few drops of colouring (optional)
  • 1tbsp Milk (optional)

To Make the Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 180c.
  2. Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth and pale.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  5. Fold in the vanilla extract, Tequila Rose and any colouring (if required).
  6. Sieve the flour into the cupcake batter and add the two tablespoons of milk. Fold the ingredients together, but do not over-stir.
  7. Place tablespoons of the cupcake batter into cupcake cases.
  8. Bake in the centre of the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the cupcakes spring back when pressed lightly.
  9. Place on a wire cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.

To Make the Buttercream Frosting

When the cupcakes are cool you can begin making the frosting.

  1. In a large bowl beat the butter until smooth and creamy.
  2. Then gradually add the icing sugar a little at a time. You may want to use a wooden spoon to cream this icing sugar with the butter or you will end up in a cloud of icing sugar if you use the electric mixer.
  3. Add the Tequila Rose and salt at this stage to help bring the mixture together.
  4. Now you can move back to using an electric mixer (if the mixture is still very stiff add 1tbsp of milk). Add any colouring (if required) and beat on a medium / high speed for around 10 minutes or until the mixture is smooth.
  5. You can add more icing sugar or more milk to change the consistency slightly if you wish. The consistency will vary slightly depending on the temperature of your kitchen.

These cupcakes are perfect for weddings, parties, hen parties, or just because you love them!

I’m pretty sure that Tequila Rose is going to be your new obsession this year (it’s certainly mine!). You can find out more on their Facebook page

Cheers!
