Tropical wedding styling is still one of my favourite concepts, and I adore these palm and gold styling ideas captured so beautifully by Amanda Karen Photography. Curated by the super talented Always Andri and Flamboyant Invites, every minute detail of this ‘Plantation Chic’ styled shoot has been so carefully planned and beautifully executed.
A variety of palm leaves and ferns form the main element of the styling, adorning the beautiful Holland Park Orangery and tablescape. The large potted palms lining the centre of the table work beautifully under the high ceilings of the orangery, and small varieties in pots and vases intermingle along the table and on the floor. The use of palms at different heights makes such a splendid display.
The palm and gold theme flows through every detail, from the fabulous wedding stationery to the magnificent wedding cakes displayed so beautifully. And wait until you see the gorgeous bridal bouquet!
Everything about this shoot is modern, chic and oh so stylish…
“Bringing the warmth and scents of lush tropical plants to the city, whatever the weather, was the inspiration for this wedding shoot. Our palm and gold theme offers a ‘Plantation Chic’ style concept where muted tones, beautiful tropical foliage, bare wood, white and touches of antique gold take the tropical wedding theme trend in a completely different direction .
“The theme harps back to the Victorian era, when many Orangeries and glasshouses were built to protect citrus trees from the winter weather. The Orangery at Holland Park is a wonderful and beautiful example of this type of building.
“Flamboyant Invites’ faded Coco Palm stationery provided the creative spark for the shoot, styled by Always Andri and beautifully captured by Amanda Karen. White iced cakes incorporated tropical leaf sugar work, and distinctive foliage set ups and table arrangements included both real and artificial foliage and plants. Set within the stunning backdrop of Holland Park’s Orangery, the details reflected the concept perfectly.
“Finally, Truvelle’s bridal gowns exude a timeless and simple elegance, and make the perfect for choice for a wedding at home or abroad.”

If you’re longing for a wedding with a rustic countryside vibe, then today’s shoot at Lyth Valley Country Inn will give you loads of ideas for your wedding styling.
There is an eclectic mix of rustic styling ideas, from feathers and skulls to moss covered oak slices and bird nests, and also some styling elements which give a wonderful modern twist on the rustic nature of this concept. Giant grass covered LOVE letters create a modern backdrop whilst embracing the natural vibe. The florals are amazing too, with wildflowers and eucalyptus foliage mixed with bright blue flowers again giving a contemporary edge.
I adore the eclectic mix of old and new that creates real interest and intrigue. Beautifully rustic backdrops with vintage bikes, large light-up wooden letters, blankets, old books, tea cups and rustic furniture are brought to life in the surroundings of the countryside and Lyth Valley Country Inn.
Varying bridal styles each complement the rustic concept, from traditional chic with an elegant bridal look to rock chick with leather biker jacket and tattoos. These are perfect examples to show that little tweaks can make different styling concepts your own.
Carolyn of AMB Vision joined forces with make-up artist Polly Winder to bring this rustic countryside wedding styling to life…
“Friends since birth and Lake District born and bred, Carolyn and I have both found ourselves working in the wedding industry but in completely different areas. So, we decided to work together to create a ‘Countryside Chic’ shoot. With spring just around the corner we wanted to create a shoot encapsulating the rustic beauty of the venue as well as its stunning surroundings.”
“Surrounded by Lake District countryside, Lyth Valley Country Inn has wonderful outdoor space, and the rustic countryside theme of the venue gave us the inspiration for varied wedding looks, from boho to a more classic bridal wear style.
“Each supplier contributed their own influence in the arrangement of the shoot and the results were exactly what we wanted.”
