It all started with a vision of creating a ‘refined rustic’ wedding… Shannon and David had an extraordinary wedding ceremony with their friends and family in the forest, followed by a relaxed reception in a really cool warehouse wedding venue. We love a big, clear space that you can style to your heart’s content!
Shannon and David have such an incredible eye for styling (Shannon is an interior designer, which helps!). There are so many cool, handmade styling details. The ever so cute material heart buttonholes and tiny heart aisle decorations, the bunting and signs, and the fabulous ribbon arch that the guests held up for Shannon and David to walk under after the ceremony.
The reception was styled with long wooden tables adorned with beautiful flowers and stunning place settings. There were fabulous arrangements of foliage and strings of lights suspended from the wooden frame structures above the tables. This really brought the outside in, and fitted perfectly with their ‘fairy forest’ styling.
The bride and groom looked stunning; just wait until you see Shannon’s amazing wedding dress with its super peplum detail.
If you are planning on utilising a warehouse style space for your wedding you are sure to take inspiration from these pretty pictures, taken by the very talented Lara Hotz Photography.
Refined Rustic
“We wanted to create a ‘refined rustic’ style. Koskela Kitchen ticked many of the necessary boxes and were very accommodating to our needs. We fell in love from the moment we saw it.
“The vibe we were trying to create for our guests was, as the invitation and dress code stated, ‘comfortable chic’. The menu was very relaxed with pizza slices and watermelon lettuce cups as our entrée, and pull-apart garlic bread with an assortment of pastas as main course.”
Non-Negotiable Photographer
“Our photographer, Lara, was a non-negotiable condition of mine, even before the name David Shlom gave me butterflies in my tummy. We are so grateful to have had such an amazing, creative person document our day. It meant I didn’t have to worry about anything and that all our efforts for the day were captured for life.”
