And the winner is… Sean Gannon Photography!
We’re now a third of the way through finding our finalists for our 2016 Picture of the Year competition, after this stunning picture by Sean Gannon Photography was voted our April 2016 Picture of the Month. The picture was taken at the top of The Gherkin in London at the wedding of Emma and Ian, and Sean told us a little bit about how the shot came about…
“Emma and Ian’s wedding at The Gherkin in Central London was an amazing day. Emma was the smiliest bride, and despite her taxi crashing on the way to the church was always happy (as was Ian).
“The Gherkin is a unique wedding venue and on the right day can provide us with amazing views and, of course, great sunsets. As the guests were being seated for the wedding breakfast I saw the sunset and had just a couple of minutes with the two of them.
“They are so natural together and I thankfully had a guest to help me light them against the sunset. I love this image and I love the act that others do too.”
