A Lavender Styled Wedding in Provence

Wow, this incredible wedding in France is going to blow you away. Inspired by lavender, the creative team that helped create Yelena and Julien’s special day really did them proud, and it’s all been beautifully captured by Jose Villa Photography.

With the breathtaking scenery of Provence, the prettiest wedding styling and a gorgeous couple, this wedding really has it all. The bride and groom look stunning – wait until you see the bride’s wedding dress! The bridal party look amazing too; the pastel coloured dresses that the bridesmaids wore look fantastic with their lavender bouquets.

We love an outdoor wedding, especially one with beautiful lighting for the evening reception, and this really is fabulous; from the candlelit pathway to the canopy of lights and hanging bubble votives.

“The wedding ceremony took place on a cliff, overlooking the picturesque town of Bonnieux. We wanted the dramatic scenery to take centre stage and opted for an understated, elegant floral display that wouldn’t interfere or take away from the view. Rose petals and floating candles lined the aisle, and since we were in Provence… of course, there had to be a lavender toss at the ceremony!

“The elaborate, multi-course dinner was served al fresco, under a canopy of bistro lights and hanging bubble votives. The venue is run by a Michelin starred chef, so the lovely meal did not disappoint.

“Calligrapher Holly designed all the stationery, including the lavender hemstitch napkins with their monogram and watercolour table numbers in French. A vintage style jazz band set the mood, and chefs came out with smoking copper pots to present the impressive main. Guests followed the candlelit pathway to the bergerie for dancing after dinner, and the DJ came all the way from California to keep guests partying into the wee hours of the morning!

“So many pieces of this wedding stand out as amazing, especially the custom made guest welcome boxes; vintage wooden crates filled with olive crackers, a tin of lavender olive oil, tapenade, local rosé, and a customised weekend itinerary.”
