“Autumn and Halloween are my favorite times of the year, so I wanted to do a wedding shoot styled around this – something a bit edgy, not classic, yet still beautiful. As it was close to Halloween I wanted to use black instead of the usual white or cream associated with weddings, to make the look darker and quirky. It felt like I was creating my ideal wedding day, as the shoot was a mixture of all my favourite things.
“The shoot took place at the beautiful Anne of Cleves Barn at Great Lodge in Great Bardfield. I think the props we used created the extravagant look I was after; the abundance of flowers, lots of candles and gold cutlery and plates. Nicola created high and low floral table decorations so we had different heights to play with, and she also made the fresh flower headdress and bouquets for the same sex wedding pictures.”
