I adore 30s and 40s styling, so this fabulous vintage wedding styling with a modern twist is right up my street, and I hope you love these ideas too! Having a vintage style wedding has moved on a lot from vintage teacups everywhere, and these ideas show how to work vintage eras into your wedding without a teacup in sight!
The styling has a romantic vibe with soft blush colours, pearl and gold as the main colour palette, and these colours work perfectly against the backdrop of the beautiful venue, Heythrop Park Resort. Opulent table decor creates a wonderful ambiance too. The table has a sparkly tablecloth as the base with candles, pearls, gold chargers, and diamanté napkin holders. The addition of ostrich feathers to the fabulous florals once again gives a nod to the era.
However, my favourite aspect of the shoot is the vintage style dresses worn by the bride and her bridesmaids. Adorned with incredible lace and beaded detail, they look magnificent with the headbands, gloves and exquisite make-up and hair.
Everything about this styling has been carefully planned with such attention to detail. Grab a cuppa and enjoy these pictures, captured beautifully by Joseph Dart Photography.
Pearls, Feathers and Neon
“A group of wedding professionals collaborated to create this spectacular vintage themed shoot with a modern twist. We wanted the images to inspire couples and make them feel they could take elements of the shoot for their own wedding.
“Early in the planning stage we learnt that neon colours were trending in the wedding world, so decided to go with this idea. We brought a hint of neon into the table décor, flowers and buttonholes, headbands and wedding cake.
“Pearls and feathers are an integral part of the 20’s and 30’s era. We included them in the venue décor design with tea lights in gold votives nestled amongst a sea of pearls in small glass bowls.
“The spectacular floral centrepiece with roses, hydrangeas and peonies also featured large plumes of ostrich feathers and fabulous orchids arcing downwards. We displayed this glorious creation in a tall hourglass vase.
“The deliciously romantic chair décor featured soft draping chiffon weaved into the backs of beautiful Chiavari chairs. A timeless, romantic look, this styling would work in many different venues.
“The inspiration for the vintage style wedding cake came from 30’s and 40’s designs, including HM the Queen’s wedding cake. It’s decorated with a base of ivory royal icing with white royal iced details.
“Finally, the wedding party’s attire included beautifully beaded gowns and a lace detailed wedding dress.”
