Who are Live Music Quotes?
Live Music Quotes is an innovative booking and event management service providing high-end live musicians, DJs and performers. Couples, or venues of any size, can book their ideal entertainer without agents or agency fees.
How did Live Music Quotes get started and how long have you been going?
We started in 2015 with a team of pro musicians and event planners who aspired to make it easier for people to book quality entertainment. Collectively we have decades of experience working in the entertainment industry. Our network of contacts means we can handle almost any request.
Where do you cover?
At the moment we cover towns and cities nationwide. As there is a trend for weddings abroad we are looking to expand into Europe in the future, starting with Spain. We want to provide the reassurance that comes with booking through a reputable company.
What service can Live Music Quotes provide for a wedding?
We provide three key services designed to make the process of finding and booking musicians as quick and easy as possible.
Our Auction service is for clients who want to wait for musicians/DJs to come to them. Simply list an auction event on our website with all the relevant details and set a budget. Musicians/DJs that match your requirements will be alerted and all you have to do is choose your favourite.
If you’re short on time, or you know exactly what you’re looking for, you can choose to ‘Book Now’. Browse our list of musicians/DJs until you find your perfect match.
Our third option is our managed service, for those wanting a personal touch. Tell us your ideas and we’ll do the rest.
So As well as live music, couples can also book wedding DJs with you?
Absolutely! Our DJs are highly experienced and have what it takes to get your wedding guests grooving all night long. They know how to read a crowd and choose the right tunes to play.
What sets Live Music Quotes apart from other wedding entertainment and live music agencies?
If our innovative booking platform isn’t enough to tempt you, we also offer bespoke wedding packages.
You’d usually need to source your ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and evening entertainment from separate companies, or individual musicians.
At Live Music Quotes we offer a special wedding package for a set price. This covers live music for each part of your day, and you can customise the line up to suit your needs.
What type of music acts can you provide for weddings?
Our acts range from singers, pianists, string quartets, rock/blues bands, soul/Motown bands, jazz ensembles, big bands and everything in-between. We have DJs who play house, dubstep, techno, or get you dancing to the YMCA. Anything you need, we have.
We are always on the lookout for new and unique acts to sign up. We can give them a platform to showcase their talent and help them to discover fellow bands and musicians to collaborate with. The platform also gives event planners and couples an opportunity to discover new talent and help support the live music scene. You could say we’re a live version of Spotify.
How many different live music acts do you have available?
So far, we have over 100 top quality acts available. We are meticulous about who signs up and we make sure all our acts are of a high calibre.
If couples are looking for something a little different, what type of themed acts do you offer?
If you were going for a roaring 20s themed wedding, I’d recommend David McTea & The Swinging Magpies. Or if you’re looking for something unique, we have the UK’s leading Dulcimer player Dan Evans.
What have been the top music acts of 2016?
We’ve had some great acts signing up this year. A recent arrival has been The Mojomatics, who are a top class party band based in the Manchester area.
There’s also Charlie Cooper, who specialises in vintage soul – she even writes her own songs. Then there’s Paul Warren and his alter ego ‘Paul Robbie Warren’, a Robbie Williams tribute act.
What do you think will be the hot trends for wedding entertainment next year?
I think DJs will be making quite a storm next year, and indie/rock cover bands will always dominate. With bands such as Bastille making a comeback couples are looking to add a bit of edge to their wedding.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Definitely solving a couple’s problems and helping to bring their wedding to life. It’s important to know and understand how to curate entertainment for a wedding. This is their special day and we want to make it one they’ll never forget.
Random question… If you could provide entertainment for anyone’s wedding, who would it be and what would you provide?
I guess it would be lovely to provide entertainment for an international mass wedding one day. Where everyone and anyone, regardless of their orientation and ethnicity, gets a chance to proclaim their love for each other and tie the knot in a massive, beautifully decorated space.
And I would pick The Signatures to perform The Delfonics ‘La La Means I Love You’. It’s the perfect first dance song that resonates with everyone, and performed live it would take the romance above and beyond. It always brings tears to my eyes.
What’s your typical day like?
I usually start the day by checking my emails and catching up on any enquiries I’ve had overnight. As the promotions and marketing manager I’m tasked with creating and finding relevant content for our viewers to read.
It may be tips for couples, such as our top five acts for a variety of entertainment. Or, it could be advice for our acts such as how to get gigs. Sometimes it’s just some funny gifs to give people a giggle on a Friday afternoon.
